Café Puaa
Café Puaa is right in the middle of Jaffa’s colorful flea market district. It’s always alive. I’ve been here so many times and keep coming back and recommending it to others. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere. I could sit here for hours and just watch all the hip & beautiful people passing by. My favorite dish is the ‘mung beans in raw tahini’ - it doesn’t sound too exciting but it’s super yummy, I promise. Costs about 50 nis.
Personal highlight: after finishing my visit at Puaa, I ALWAYS go food shopping at Shafra, the store on the other side of the street. They have a selection of imported goods, mostly from Italy and France, as well as a great selection of cheeses, wine from all over the world, halva, quality bread, cakes and more. Best part is, you can try all the cheeses, which makes it much easier to pick your favorites. Afterwards, you can can grab your loved one(s) and your cheese & wine and go for a picnic at Jaffa’s view point on the steps just below the wishing bridge. One of my favorite things to do in Jaffa.
