about telavivstyle

Hi, I’m Liron. I’m a result of a classic love story. Back in the day, my mum came to Israel to work as a volunteer in a beautiful Kibbutz called Afikim. That’s where it all started. She met my dad, they fell in love, and…well, let’s not go into details. The point is, I’m a mixed kid, some parts of me are as German as it gets, and others are Israeli through and through. I grew up in Germany but the older I got, the more time I spent in Israel and the less I wanted to be elsewhere. So eventually, in 2015, I decided to pack up my stuff and move. For good? That’s what everyone asks me. Only god knows, in case he exists. (Please don’t tell anyone I said that out loud).

Why telavivstyle? It all started because more and more people started asking me for recommendations about Tel Aviv. Eventually, I got tired of writing the same things over and over again. So I thought to myself, why don’t I start collecting my favorite spots digitally so I can share them with everyone? When you go on holiday to a city you’ve never been to before, don’t you waste too much time on deciding where to go, what to do, and where to have dinner when there are a gazillion options in front of you? See, that’s why I wanted to make it very easy for you, and only list the best options. Having been a flight attendant for almost 3 years, I learned how to plan my stays most efficiently and I’d like you to be able to do the same, even if you only have a few days.

Jetsetting around the planet, I had the privilege to explore quite some destinations in this incredible world of ours, and let me assure you: THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE TEL AVIV. There’s something about the vibes and the atmosphere here, no city on earth can compare. And I would like to share that with all of you. That's where telavivstyle came in. It's not a noun, it's more like an adjective, a state of mind. When something truly represents this crazy city, I call it telavivstyle. Sorry to those who thought this was a fashion blog - I admit, the name is slightly misleading. However, a lot of places that are featured here, are more than fashionable, you’ll see!

This blog isn’t just a collection of locations, it’s also a homage to the city I love. Truly and unconditionally - and I felt a strong urge to tell the whole world why. Especially those who think we’re still riding camels to work and live in a war zone day in and day out. I think you should all know how beautiful and diverse this city is. I admit, sometimes it does freak me out with its attitude, noisiness, high prices, etc. But still, I love you, Tel Aviv.
