Saluf & Sons

Grilled Eggplant Slices with Tahina, Shawia with Beef, Humus with Mushrooms, Feta Cubes

You guys…this is BY FAR my absolute favorite restaurant for authentic, home-made Yemenite food. Everything on the menu is delicious, literally everything. It’s a very small place with great music and a typical telavivian vibe. Shots on the house almost every single time…no matter if at lunch or dinner!

I don’t even know which dishes to recommend cause they’re all so good, but if I had to choose, I would tell you to go for the Shawia - it’s a traditional Yemenite dish with couscous and beef. You should also get one of their Hummus (my favorite is the one with mushrooms), the brioche, the Lachuch combination - a traditional Yemenite bread with eggs, tomatoes and Zatar on top - the grilled eggplant slices and last but most importantly: the Nutella-Malawach! It’s sooo good. I kind of wanna go there right now. Note to self: never write a food blog post when you’re hungry!

Don’t miss out on the happy hour every week day from 5 to 8 - buy a beer, get the second one for free. Saluf & Sons is probably the restaurant with the most reasonable prices in Tel Aviv. They also have a great lunch deal that includes a small stew, a portion of Hummus and a salad for an unbeatable price (46 nis).
